From breakfast in the morning to a midnight nightcap, Gran Caffè offers a vast variety of delights on the most fashionable square in Capri. Nothing but praise for the beautiful Caffe Capri.Take a break in the heart of Capri by relaxing over a cocktail or espresso at the Gran Caffè Vuotto, set directly on Capri's chic Piazzetta. The people who worked there were also incredibly friendly which, that in itself, is very Italian. Personally, I am going to go back to take my girlfriend there and to try the thin wood pizza and then the tiramisu dessert that I am told is delicious. If you're able to go to New Jersey, this is the restaurant that you take your friends too. All was unbelievable! I kid you not, going to this restaurant will be the best decision you will have ever made. Therefore, not only is the food affordable, but the portion is also sizeable enough to certainly fill my appettite. We got this much food and I'm still a college student, meaning that I am not a person who is out to spend lots of money. I remember it was the 'Orecchiette with broccoli rabe and the rigatoni vodka sauce (no we did not get drunk from the vodka sauce!), this being accompanied with a chicken parmigiana and a veal saltimbocca. Went there with 3 friends last night and we all shared 2 pastas. If you are looking for an authentic, relaxed and honestly beautiful restaurant in the North Jersey area/Meadowlands area, stop looking. Therefore, when I write a review about a restaurant such as this, believe me, this is the real deal, the 'gold mine of Italian dining'. I am from England, I just wanted to see a few friends, I didn't expect to write a review. I haven't truly appreciated the place or the environment. I don't write many reviews for places, for the reason that I find that. There's no better way to describe this exquisite and fine restaurant. On thinking of a title for my review, one thought struck to mind in the shape of one word 'wow'. Overall I was disappointed and will not be rushing back anytime soon. There's no excuse for not updating your website in that period of time. I could overlook this if the menu was just changed recently, but when we asked the waitress when the menu changed, she said it changed almost a year ago (must have not been long after the last time I was there). Their website is also noticeably out of date. The flavor of the dish was ok, but call it something other than Chicken Scarpariello. What I received for "Chicken Scarpariello" was chicken and mushrooms in a neutral greyish colored sauce. I've had scarpariello at many different restaurants and while everyone does it a little differently, one common factor that I've never seen missing (until now) was peppers. I ended up ordering the Chicken Scarpariello. The Chicken Giambotta entree (which was incredible in the past) has also disappeared from the menu. now seem to be left with a handful of somewhat boring and very traditional appetizer items to pick from instead of the more creative and exciting options in the past. Many of my favorite items from the menu are now gone (appetizers that have disappeared include Calamari Mimmo, Crostino, and Arrancini). I've been coming to this restaurant for a number of years and on my most recent visit things seem to have gone downhill.
